EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE ON
THE CITY CENTER PROJECT
VOTERS APPROVED:
The voter approved San Ramon 20/20 General Plan requires the City Center to be ---
---"primarily civic and cultural facilities – along with smaller restaurants, cafes and retail establishments."
---"The City Center will be a people place first and include a performing arts center, library, and small scale retail establishments, such as restaurants and cafes, bookstores, gift shops, etc."
---"develop the City Center as cohesive mix of civic, compatible retail, and open space uses with an arts and entertainment focus."
WHAT THE DEVELOPER/CITY WILL GIVE YOU:
- Over 2 million square feet of commercial and retail development!
- Up to 40,000 more vehicle trips on Bollinger Canyon Rd. - double what now exists!
- A "City/Civic Center" with only 5% devoted to civic uses!
- 9 parking structures to accommodate approximately 7,500 vehicles!
- Buildings as high as 110 ft / 7 story within a few feet of the sidewalk!
- 487 housing units up to 8 stories high overshadowing the Iron Horse Trail!
- No parks or open space for over 40 acres of Project site!
- Commute traffic pushing more cars onto residential streets!
- Bollinger Canyon Rd. expands to 11 lanes!
YOUR VOTE IS YOUR VOICE. DON'T LET OTHERS DECIDE FOR YOU!
Many concerned residents strongly feel the vital City/Civic Center should be approved by voters, and not left up to a wealthy developer and some city officials to decide what is best for San Ramon. That is why many residents are volunteering time gathering signatures to place the matter on the ballot.
